Pyjamarama is a classic adventure game that was originally released for the ZX Spectrum computer in 1984. The game was developed by Chris Sievey and published by Mikro-Gen.

In Pyjamarama, the player takes on the role of a character named Wally Week, who has fallen asleep in his pyjamas and must navigate his way through his house and various dreamlike environments to find and collect the items he needs to complete a task before he wakes up.  Wally must accomplish various goals to set the alarm clock off and wake himself up.

Throughout the game, Wally must interact with various objects to solve puzzles and progress through the levels. The game features colourful graphics and it has since become a cult classic among retro gaming enthusiasts.

Pyjamarama has been re-released on various platforms over the years, including the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, and PC, and it is now available to play via PICO-8.

Controls are simple.

Move Wally left and right with the arrow keys, and jump with up arrow or the X key.

Can you complete 100% ? You will have to collect every object (at least once) and visit every room. Good luck and have fun :)

Hi again. Hate to be a pest, but have you managed to update this with the fuel bug fixed? Cheers. :)

Hi. I have a problem when trying to fill the fuel can. When I walk past the "fuel" depot, the can doesn't fill! Anyone else have this problem?

I can confirm that the can doesn’t fill :( This, it appears is a bug :( Not sure how that slipped through as I tested each puzzle individually as I was writing it and it all worked. I’m looking into it now to try and fix it, but its almost 3 years since I touched this project and a lot of it is making little to no sense :( I soldier on though and find the problem and upload a fix when I can.

I hope you can find a fix as the fuel can lets you travel to space and the last two screens! Would be great to see them!

You will be happy to know I’ve found the bug and fixed it :) I will upload a new version as soon as I’ve managed to sort out all the other gubbins that goes along with it.

That's great! Thanks a lot for your support!

What happened to Manic Miner?

There’s been strange activity on some of my games. A lot of them appear to be having hundreds of view, but no actual plays. Until we can find the issue I don’t know what will happen with them.

I would like to play your fantastic games on my portable console, is there a way to download the games in p8 or png format, thanks

Great to see this!

Couple of observations/bugs:

I think in the original Wally gradually lost "milk" as time ticked by. That doesn't seem to happen here (which may be an improviement)

Objects reliant on something else to collect them (e.g. the crash helmet) are initially replaced by the substituted item but then the graphic changes back to the original item.

The "venus fly trap" monsters either side of the jerry can can be jumped over successfully only losing some milk energy. I'm sure in the original game they immediately sapped all your energy if you touched them.

Now do Herbert's Dummy Run!

Hi, thanks for the comments/bugs reports etc.

The decreasing milk - Yeah, I thought that too, but after pawing over the z80 disassembly for it I found it doesn’t drop over time, but based on the number of steps/jumps taken (300 and a bar is removed). I have implemented that, but I will check its still working.

The reliant object thing, I thought I had cracked that early on, but as you can appreciate bugs can creep in unexpectedly. I will check over this and fix,

The fly trap, yeah, I used the same damage values as used in the original z80 code, but some things seem to not be ass affective as others (the falling books for example I had to tweak as it was possible to creep past them without loosing any energy at all !). I will also tweak this to make the damage more effective.

Now… Herbert’s Dummy run ….. hmmm …. maybe, after I’ve cleared up a big chunk of my wip list ;)

hi the game was  simple and fun ,great work i made new game (bvb-guess ) too if want check my game and tell any bug or new things that i can add to it ,thank you
